Bilingual (Spanish) Nurse Case Manager
Lena is a Masters prepared registered nurse and board-certified case manager, with over seven years of experience providing medical case management to Worker's Compensation claims. Prior to transitioning to case management, Lena has worked as a medical–surgical telemetry nurse as well as perioperative nurse in several area hospitals. Lena has provided expert nurse consultant services to employers and third-party administrators large and small, both in the private sector as well as several municipalities.
Lena grew up in the United States but spent extensive amounts of time with her grandmother in Spain, giving her a unique perspective on the world, fluency in Spanish, and a comfort level in dealing with people from different backgrounds and walks of life. With multiple years of experience working at inner-city safety net hospitals, Lena truly enjoys working with diverse patient populations.
Lena possesses a Masters degree in science-nursing from Capella University with a specialization in care coordination. Care coordination is emerging as a specialty in graduate nursing education, as a result of this training Lena is well-versed in evidence-based outcomes management and quality improvement strategies.
